Wear Red for Women Breakfast and Fashion Show
Lake Health and The Women's Center at Lakeland Community College to Host Heart Health Event
CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio, January 6, 2011 - One in four American women will die of heart disease. Despite the statistics, most women still fail to make the connection between risk factors-such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol-and their personal risk of developing heart disease. Join Lake Health and the Women's Center at Lakeland Community College for a special breakfast and fashion show in support of women and the fight against heart disease.
The Wear Red for Women Breakfast and Fashion Show will be held on Friday, February 4, from 7:30 – 9:15 a.m. at Normandy Banquet Center, 30310 Palisades Parkway, Wickliffe. The cost is $20 per person, $17 for LifeCycles and PWI members, or $125 for a table of eight.
The event will feature a heart-healthy breakfast, a red fashion show highlighting fashions from Macy's, a keynote address by Lori Stevic-Rust, PhD, director of Integrative Medicine and Sharon Minjares, MS, RD, LD, director of Lake Health's Wellness Institute, and an inspiring story from a heart disease survivor.
To reserve your tickets or table for the Wear Red for Women Breakfast and Fashion Show, please call the Best of Health Line at 440-953-6000 or 1-800-454-9800. Space is limited.
Attendees are encouraged to wear red to the event to show their support for women and the fight against heart disease. Friday, February 4 is the official National Wear Red Day. The celebration is part of a nationwide movement to empower women to love-and save-their hearts through lifestyle choices and actions.
