Slow Down When Eating
Slowing down when eating can assist with digestion and with over eating. Slowing down will help you feel full sooner and take in fewer calories at each meal. These simple steps can help you slow down:
- Chew each bite 20-30 times
- Put your fork down between each bite
- Savor each bite-we often times only taste and enjoy the first and last bite of our meal
No Emotional Eating

Eating because you're sad or depressed is a good way to gain weight. Unfortunately, that's what most of us DON'T want to do. It’s best to find another way to cheer yourself up that you won't regret down the road. Try going for a walk, taking an exercise class, or guided meditation.
Lay off the Snacks Before Bedtime
Avoid eating too much too close to bedtime. Sleeping on a full stomach can sometimes promote acid reflux. It also can promote fat storage, as you don’t burn as many calories when you’re asleep. Try and have your last meal or snack 3 hours before bedtime.
Deliver Messages in Person

Whenever possible, walk to see other
coworkers instead of calling or emailing. Little bouts of activity throughout the day can add up and help you burn a few extra calories. It is also a great way to assist with the miscommunications that often happen via e-mail.
