Med/Surg Portal
Welcome to the Med/Surg Portal!
The medical field has become an ever changing, dynamic field. It is nearly impossible to keep up with all the changes! This portal is being made available to the staff of the med/surg areas in an effort to provide instant updates to changes that are occurring at our facility in regards to patient safety, JCAHO standards, and staffing needs.
Weekly Updates-This section will have available announcements that may impact on your ability to perform your job successfully and safely. Two weeks of information will be available for viewing at any given time. Older information will be archived into specific folders on that topic. It is your professional responsibility to review this information
Archive Folders-For announcements that are greater then two weeks old. Folders will be created for easier reference (ie. Soarian, MAK, patient satisfaction, etc)Above and Beyond-Above and Beyond’s will be submitted for all to view and to congratulate their peers for a job well done!
Ask the Educator- This is a safe non threatening zone where staff should feel free to ask a question. Perhaps even a colleague and peer already know the answers! Whether it is from a simple question such as the proper way to empty a foley or a more complex question as how often do PICC lines get flushed, we will help find the answer for you! Please use this tool to help improve the care you are delivering and ultimately the care your patient is receiving!
