Good Call!
If you suffer a sports injury, call Lake Health's 24/7 Sports Injury Hotline. A sports medicine adviser will decide whether you should treat the injury yourself, go to the Emergency Department, or see a doctor. If you don't have a doctor, the sports medicine adviser will arrange a next-day appointment with a physician in Lake Health's sports medicine network.

We'll Get You Back in the Game—Fast!
The sports medicine experts at Lake Health share your passion for the game. Most are athletes themselves, so they understand your mindset and know that the last place you want to be is on the bench. So when you suffer a sports injury, they'll treat you aggressively to minimize your down time.
In fact, our sports medicine physicians, therapists, and athletic trainers reserve next-day appointments just for injured athletes.
Image is Everything
If you need diagnostic testing, Lake Health offers the most advanced imaging capabilities available today. Along with the latest technology, we have radiologists who specialize in reading orthopedic scans to help ensure an accurate diagnosis. What's more, we offer imaging diagnostics at ten convenient locations across Lake, Geauga, and Cuyahoga counties.
Aggressive Treatment
If your injury requires physical rehabilitation, you'll be in good hands with our sports medicine physical therapists, hand therapists, and certified athletic trainers. Along with personalized therapy programs, they provide aggressive, innovative treatment plans designed specifically for athletes.
Most injuries don't require surgery. If yours does, our orthopedic surgeons and podiatrists will use minimally invasive techniques whenever possible to minimize your time on the bench. These procedures lead to less pain, less scarring and—most important—quicker recoveries.

At the Top of Your Game
Our sports medicine experts don't just focus on healing sports injuries. They focus on preventing them. To that end, they offer a variety of clinics designed to keep you at peak performance. These include PECS (Performance Enhancement and Conditioning Systems) and ALPhA (Adults Living to be Physically Active).
Our PECS and ALPhA programs, are designed to fit the needs of each client. Our Sports Medicine experts, licensed and board-certified athletic trainers, design each program to meet the goals set by the individual with the guidance of the athletic trainer.
The initial “set-up” day includes physical testing geared toward the age and limitations of the client, followed by a consultation session to go over the testing results and set the client's goals. The subsequent training sessions follow the program designed by the athletic trainer. The designed program will generally include core work along with aerobic and anaerobic conditioning. These exercises, tailored to your individual needs, goals and comfort level, can include exercise such as treadmill walking running, biking, weighted exercises, abdominal workouts, etc.
For more information on ALPhA or PECS, please call 440-354-1946.
Supporting Athletes—On and Off the Field
Lake Health provides athletic training services to both public and private high schools and colleges in and around Lake County. Athletic trainers educate players about injury prevention, watch for unsafe situations, and administer pre-game taping. If an injury occurs, the trainer evaluates it, provides first aid, and manages follow-up care. He or she also discusses the injury with the athlete's parents and coach.
The athletic trainers also offer yearly low-cost sports physicals for high school athletes and periodic certification clinics for coaches, which include CPR training and instruction on using an automatic external defibrillator (AED).
