Lake Health and The Women’s Center at Lakeland Community College to Host Heart Health Event
CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio, January 5, 2010 - One in four American women will die of heart disease. Despite the statistics, most women still fail to make the connection between risk factors - such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol—and their personal risk of developing heart disease. Join Lake Health and the Women’s Center at Lakeland Community College on February 5 for a special breakfast and fashion show in support of women and the fight against heart disease.
The Wear Red for Women Breakfast and Fashion Show will be held on Friday, February 5, from 7:30 – 9 a.m. at Normandy Banquet Center, 30310 Palisades Parkway, Wickliffe. The cost is $20 per person, $17 for LifeCycles and PWI members, or $125 for a table of eight.
The event will feature a heart-healthy breakfast, a red fashion show highlighting fashions from Macy’s, and a keynote address will be given by a Lake Health physician. Jan Wardell, a heart disease survivor, will also share her inspiring story.
To reserve your tickets or table for the Wear Red for Women Breakfast and Fashion Show, please call the Women's Center at Lakeland Community College at 440-525-7322. Space is limited.
Attendees are encouraged to wear red to the event to show their support for women and the fight against heart disease. Friday, February 5 is the official National Wear Red Day. The celebration is part of a nationwide movement to empower women to love—and save—their hearts through lifestyle choices and actions.
