Are you a Caregiver?
Description
Many of us will find ourselves in the role of a caregiver at some point in our lives. This can be a very difficult job that brings with it all kinds of emotions, both positive and negative. Often, the caregiver puts the needs of the person being cared for ahead of their own needs. However, caring for oneself is one of the most important tasks of a caregiver. The following tips can help the caregiver stay healthy and better able cope with the task at hand:
Take care of your body - Be sure to eat right, exercise, and get the proper amount of sleep. Make sure to keep your own appointments with doctors and dentists.
Manage stress - Use stress reduction techniques that work for you, such as walking, meditating, gardening, or meeting with friends.
Ask for help - Often, caregivers think they have to do it all. Think of ways others can help and ask specifically for the help you need. Even small tasks can ease the job of being a caregiver. There are also community resources such as adult day care, respite care, hospice care, and support groups. For help finding resources in Ohio visit:

the help you need.
