Lake Health Foundation to Host "Glitz 2012: Keep the Beat!"

Concord Township, OH, September 26, 2012 - Lake Health Foundation will host "Glitz 2012: Keep the Beat!" on Saturday, October 20, 2012, 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LaMalfa, 5783 Heisley Rd., Mentor.  Celebrate Lake County and our surrounding communities becoming the healthiest in Ohio by driving a legacy of wellness through philanthropic development of Lake Health resources.

This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the Glitz, Lake Health Foundation's largest annual fundraiser.  Each year, members of the community and Lake Health physicians and team members attend the Glitz to support Lake County's progressive, community-based health system. The funds raised at the event will help to support Lake Health's ongoing mission to provide comprehensive health care services to the residents of Lake County and neighboring communities in partnership with those who share a commitment to local access, healing with compassion and superior quality.

The theme of this year's Glitz celebrates the Keep the Beat Community CPR Campaign that Lake Health, the Lake County Fire and EMS departments and the Lake Health Foundation launched earlier this year to train 10,000 Lake County residents in hands-only CPR. According to the American Heart Association, more than 300,000 Americans are treated by EMS for cardiac arrest each year, and about 97 percent die from it, often because CPR and defibrillation aren't provided soon enough. Providing Hands-only CPR to an adult who has collapsed from sudden cardiac arrest prior to EMS arriving can more than double, even triple, that person's chance of survival. To date, more than 5,000 people have been trained.

This year's Glitz will feature a Tuscan-themed cocktail hour along with a silent auction that will include a variety of items such as event tickets, a variety of art pieces, overnight packages, a Lincoln Electric Welder, an assortment of wine packages, and more!  Additionally, the Glitz will host a live auction featuring a backyard party for eight at the home of a prestigious Lake County resident, packages with area golf pros, a personal wine collection, trips, and so much more!

New to the Glitz this year is the raffle of a 2013 BMW 328i.  The winner of the raffle receives a free, two-year lease with a 15,000 mile per year allotment, compliments of Classic BMW.  Tickets can be purchased prior to the event for $20 each by calling Lake Health Foundation at (440) 354-1900.  You do not need to be present to win.

As in past years, Cashpalooza tickets can be purchased for $100.  Only 150 tickets will be sold.  There will be two winners chosen at the Glitz.  First place receives $5,000 and second place receives $2,500!

Barrels of Fun, sponsored by local restaurants, bistros, and wineries will feature a big screen TV as the grand prize.  The grand prize is being donated by the Lake Health Medical Staff.  Finally, guests will enjoy the sounds of the 35-piece Brass Band of the Western Reserve followed by dance music from Park Place.

Tickets are $150 per person, $300 per couple, or $2,500 for a corporate table of eight.  Other sponsorship levels are available and a portion of each ticket price is tax deductible.  For additional information or to purchase tickets for the event, please contact the Lake Health Foundation at (440) 354-1900.
