The Emergency Department at West Medical Center in Willoughby is a Certified Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center and features private treatment rooms, bedside registration, and two waiting areas, one for adults and one for children.

Walls enclose all treatment rooms in the Emergency Department; windows allow nurses to observe patients when necessary, yet curtains provide plenty of privacy. In addition, all treatment rooms contain antennas that transmit important patient information directly to the nursing station.

The Emergency Department also offers specialized rooms that include an Obstetric and Gynecological exam room with a private bathroom and shower; an isolation room to accommodate patients with contagious conditions; three trauma rooms; a room with ear, nose, and throat exam equipment; and a decontamination area to treat emergency personnel or patients who’ve come in contact with hazardous materials.
