Athletic Trainers

John Campolieti ATC, LAT - John attended the University of Toledo and received a B.S. in Exercise Science with majors in Pre-Physical Therapy and Athletic Training. He is currently earning his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Cleveland State University. John is the Athletic Trainer at Riverside High School. John has a special interest in weight training, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, and the shoulder.

Lindsey Connelly ATC, LAT - Lindsey graduated from Kent State University in 2007 with a B.S. in Athletic Training. Lindsey is currently working as an Athletic Trainer at Mentor High School.  Lindsey is an active leader in the protocol for eating disorders and coordinates the CPR education/ certification. Her special interests include sports psychology, ACL prevention, and foot and ankle injuries.

Renee DeSalvo ATC - Graduated from the University of Akron in 2008 and is employed at Lake Health on a PRN basis and is stationed at Eastlake North High School. She is currently studying to attain her masters in Exercise Physiology at the University of Akron. Renee’s special interests are strength and conditioning and dance injuries.

Denise Fisher ATC, LAT, LMT - Denise graduated from the National Institute of Massotherapy in 2000 with a degree in Massage Therapy. In 2007 she graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. Denise is the Athletic Trainer at Geneva High School and Andrews Osborne Academy. Her special interests include strength and conditioning, nutrition, rehabilitation, and massage therapy.

Danielle Jordan MBA, ATC, LAT, Certified Pilates Instructor - Danielle graduated from Wilmington College in 2003 with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. She received her Masters in Business Administration in Healthcare Management in 2006 from American Intercontinental University. In 2007 Danielle obtained her Pilates Certification from the American Fitness Professionals and Associates. Danielle is the Athletic Trainer for Willoughby South High School. Her special interest includes Pilates, Core Strengthening, and Stretching.

Sarah Keller ATC,LAT, LMT - Sarah graduated from Baldwin Wallace College in 2004 with a Bachelors of Art in Athletic Training. She is also a received her certification in Massage Therapy from Lakeland Community College. Sarah is the Athletic Trainer for Harvey High School. Her special interests include Massage Therapy, and Strength and Conditioning.

Brad Morgan ATC, LAT, OHSAA Wrestling Master Assessor - Brad graduated from the Ohio State University in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. He is currently working on his Masters in Educational Technologies at Cleveland State University. Brad is the Athletic Trainer at Perry High School. He has special interest in the injuries associated with football and wrestling.

Sherrie Northrup ATC, LAT, Senior Athletic Trainer - Sherrie graduated from Mount Union College with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. Sherrie is currently working on attaining her Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification. Sherrie is the Athletic Trainer at Madison High School. Her special interests include ACL prevention as well as foot and ankle injuries.

Amy Pernus MEd, ATC, LAT - Amy attended Baldwin Wallace College for her undergraduate work. She then attended the University of Cincinnati for her Masters in Health Education. Amy is employed on a PRN basis spending the majority of her time in Lake Health’s Rehabilitation department as well as covering schools. Her special interest is post operative rehabilitation, injury prevention and lifestyle management.

Julie Phillips MEd, ATC, LAT - Julie graduated from Mount Union College with a major in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training and a minor in Health Education. She received her Masters in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania. Julie is currently the Athletic Trainer for Lakeland Community College.

Julie Prusock MEd, ATC, LAT - Julie comes to Lake Health after more than 9 years as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at John Carroll University.  Julie graduated from John Carroll University in 1995 with a Bachelors of Arts in Physical Education with a major in Athletic Training. She received her Masters of Education in Exercise Physiology from Cleveland State University in 1998.  Julie is currently practicing Athletic Training at Mentor High School. Her special interests include knee and ankle rehabilitation and injury prevention.

John Smith MBA, MSEd, ATC, LAT - John graduated from the University of Akron with dual Bachelors in Athletic Training and Physical Education.  There he also obtained his Master of Education, specializing in exercise physiology.  John has currently finished a Masters of Business in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix.  John is the Director of Sports Medicine for Lake Health and the Athletic Trainer for Eastlake North High School.  John’s special interests include Youth Strength and Exercise initiatives, Performance Enhancement programming, and Childhood Obesity.

Jamey Snodgrass ATC, LAT -  Jamey graduated from Mount Union College with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training and a Minor in Health and Psychology.  He is currently the Athletic Trainer for Houston Astro’s Minor League Baseball Team and on the off season works for Lake Health as a PRN employee.  Jamey’s special interest include; baseball.

Maureen Svigel MEd, ATC, LAT, PTA - Maureen graduated from Mount Union College with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training.  She received her Masters in Education in Exercise Physiology from Cleveland State. She works PRN for Lake Health and is the Athletic Trainer for Fairport High School.  Her special interests include orthopedics, rehabilitation, and speed/strengthening.

Deb Walko ATC, LAT, EMT, CSCS - Deb graduated from the University of Akron in 1992 with a Bachelors of Science in Education with majors in Athletic Training and Health Education.  She furthered her education attaining an Emergency Medical Technician license as well as her Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification.  Deb is the Athletic Trainer for Kirtland High School.  She has special interests in foot/ankle biomechanics and injuries, and well as aquatic rehabilitation.
