CONCORD TOWNSHIP, OH, January 5, 2012 -- Lake Health's TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Lake Health's Mentor Campus was designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence earlier this year.
By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the College's voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program
The breast imaging services at TriPoint Medical Center and Mentor Campus are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that these facilities have achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.

Artistic, in-hospital photo shoots capture personality and uniqueness of newborns
CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio, December 28, 2011 - The birth of a child is one of the life's most joyous occasions. To help parents document this special time, Lake Health has partnered with Bella Baby Photography to capture newborns' first days in a natural and artistic way.
Bella Baby Photography specializes in newborn photography, shot in a photojournalistic style using natural light. Each professional mini photo shoot lasts 15-20 minutes and takes place in the comfort and privacy of the hospital room. Instead of a traditional headshot, photos feature newborns in a variety of styles and creative poses-from swaddled in a plush blanket to being cradled in the arms of parents or siblings.
Shortly after each session, photos are posted to an online, custom slideshow for review. New parents are able to share the images with family and friends via a password-protected site. Parents can then order prints, digital images and other keepsakes.
"This high quality, personalized approach to newborn photography is really innovative. We're thrilled to be able to provide this unique service to all our new mothers who have just delivered," explained Angie Quirk, director of Women's and Children's Services for Lake Health. "Since we started this program nine months ago, feedback has been extremely positive."
